Soroptimist International of Port Macquarie was chartered on February 25th 2023 by SEAP President Christine Johnstone.


 

The charter ceremony was well attended by Federation Officers and Company Directors namely Federation Secretary Sue Latta, Federation Assistant Programme Director Cesarina Gigante, SISEAP Company Secretary and former Federation President Carolyn Hudson, SISEAP Director, former Federation President and current SI Australia President Theresa Lyford and SISEAP Director and Immediate Past President Region of New South Wales Sonia Casanova. Soroptimists from nine Clubs in New South Wales and Queensland were also in attendance.
During the Charter Ceremony, Federation President Christine signed and presented the Charter Document together with charter badges whilst and certificates and name tags were presented by Terry Maunsell, President Region of New South Wales. President Christine presented Dian Barnes, Charter President with the Chain of Office which was that of the now closed club SI Kuring-gai.
Port Macquarie is on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales approximately 400Km from Sydney. Four of the fifteen charter members are former Soroptimists from Sydney and Queensland who have moved to the area. They include a former Region of New South Wales President (and Federation Treasurer) and a Region of New South Wales Secretary. Most of the charter members were observers at the business meeting of the Region held earlier in the day and were able to hear not only the business matters but also informative presentations by SEAP President Christine and SI Australia President Theresa.
