October is Membership Month and what a great way to celebrate with the Charter of Westland High Soroptimist School Club on the 16th of October!
Member charter certificates and special school club member badges were handed to all 20 student members. Students are aged between 11-17 years.
Also present at the charter ceremony was Alice Noble, life and charter member of SI Westland. Alice has been a Soroptimist for 46 years.
Yvonne Simpson QSM, SWP Membership Convenor, Secretary and Member of SI Westland, was also a special guest speaker at the charter and explained to the newly inducted members, the significance and symbolism of the Aotearoa New Zealand Soroptimist Korowai (Maori cloak).
